Awards.

Today was an awards ceremony in the cafeteria, and only people with awards got invited. I was one of them.(: Awards at our school are based on the 5 highest grades in each class in each subject. I am proud of myself because I got awards for all the academic subjects - math, english, science and history. I feel like my hard work has paid off, and hopefully I can continue to have good grades. My first award was for Algebra I. I am actually put in a higher level than my friends, and my class have 7th and 8th graders. This class can get a little difficult at times, but my teacher is very nice and gives thorough lessons so I understand.

My second award was for English. English is by far my best subject and the easiest one for me. My family often says I get my English skills from my grandpa. (: My teacher, Miss Fritz, is a little crazy at times and likes to scream in class. It is a very fun period.

My third award was for Science. Science is my favorite class because you can do hands-on activites, however it is extremely difficult. We are currently learning about cells and biology, and this requires a lot of memorization and studying. The good thing about this class is the experiments. Just about 2 weeks ago we did a dissection of a sheep eye! In class, we cut open the eye with a scalpel and removed the inner parts one by one, while learning about them at the same time. It was quite a learning experience.

My last award was for "Happy Historian", interesting choice of words.(; History is my most disliked class because the teacher isn't so great. And she doesn't teach us much, she mostly makes us watch videos. I still have an okay grade, I just don't feel like I'm learning anything.
