Mom's Surgery: May 3rd

My mom went for an ultrasound on April 2. They found a breast mass about 3 cm on her right breast. Immediately they told my mom to come back for mammogram and biopsy. Then, my mom was diagnosed with "ductal carcinoma in-situ nuclear grade 3, involving sclerosing adenosis". Afterwards she went to do a MRI: an imaging scan on her breast. All the doctors (family doctor, friend's doctor, OBGYN doctor) told my mom the breast mass had to be removed immediately. She was sent to an oncologist and finally, he scheduled a surgery for May 3, which is tomorrow. Tomorrow she will head to Foothill Presbyterian Hopstial at 9 a.m. At 10:30, she will get an injection for an excision sentinel lymph node right axilla. A special dye will be injected around the cancer before removal. Then a small incision is made in the armpit and 1 to 3 lymph nodes containing the dye are removed. The sample will be sent to a lab to determine if the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. Then the surgeon will do the right partial mastectomy, which means to remove the mass. There will be a team including a surgeon, anesthesiologists, pathologists, radiologists, and other medical staff to perform the surgery. The surgery will start at 1 p.m. and hopefully it goes fine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for everyone who is praying for Mommy :))
