A couple weeks ago, I got my ears pierced at a local mall. I have wanted to pierce my ears for the longest time, but I was too scared and kept putting it off. When one of my best friends wanted to do it too, I decided to finally suck it up and get it done. We went to Claire's together and got our ears pierced. I was surprised that the "pain" was only a simple pinch, and I wished I had gotten them pierced a lot earlier! Once I had them in, I was instructed to clean them 2-3 times a day with an antiseptic wash. After 6 weeks, I should be fully healed and I can stop cleaning them. Since the wound is new, it can easily get infected by dirt, soap, or water. Mine became infected on the second day, so I had to take my original earrings out and clean my ears with an antibiotic (Betasone Cream). It worked fairly quickly and now my ears are almost back to normal! I love having a piercing because it makes the face much prettier when hair is pulled away from it. I can't wait for it to heal completely so I can wear all kinds of different earrings. :)
