Braces Removed!

On Saturday we had our monthly orthodonist appointment, and Joseph is done with "Stage 1" of his braces, which lasted for 15 months. After braces are removed, you need retainers. Retainers are custom-made devices that hold your teeth in place so they do not shift back into their original state. Retainers are very important because if you don't wear them properly, you will have to do braces all over again. Joseph has to wear them for 2 hours in the afternoon, and all night when he sleeps. Compared to before, Joseph's adult teeth are all straight and his underbite is fixed. He needs to do Stage 2 however, because many of his baby teeth have not changed. For now, he will stick with retainers. I am so jealous of him, because I wish my braces were done too. :[ But its okay, because I only have to do one stage.
