Today was New Year's Eve (or 30th night) and my mom worked hard cooking all day! She made all kinds of great food - chow mein, many different kinds of vegetables, corn soup, turnip cake, steamed fish, and chicken wings with egg. My favorites were the corn soup and the turnip cakes which I also enjoy during the rest of the year. :) My dad and mom told me stories of how the New Year's Eve is about the family and everyone gathers together and celebrates. It is sad that we cannot go visit Malaysia because of the distance and school. Hopefully when Joseph and I grow older we can visit and enjoy a real Chinese New Year!
