Good Friday

It happens that Daddy and I are both off from work today for Good Friday. Daddy's hospital asked the employees to take PTO (Pay Time Off) on Friday and Monday. Meanwhile, I am taking a sick day off because I have a MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanning appointment. My doctor submitted a MRI request from my insurance company since January 2011. At first, our request was rejected and my doctor had to re-submit an appeal for MRI approval. Finally, I got an approval notice from the insurance company after 3 months. An MRI is a very expensive medical procedure; therefore, the insurance company has a strict policy to authorize the procedure. I was asked to sign a service agreement for the MRI procedure at the Huntington Hill Imaging Center. According to the agreement, I am obligated to pay a $4,157 MRI service fee if the insurance company refuses to pay. Wow! It is expensive and no wonder it takes 3 months to get an approval!!!

We got up early morning at 6:00 am to get ready for our doctor appointment at 7:30 am. I was the first patient and we got out of the doctor's office at 9:00 am. We decided to eat breakfast at Arcadia. We had an authentic Chinese breakfast, including hot soybean milk, you tiau, turnip cake, and green onion egg pancake. Later, we stopped by the Santa Anita shopping mall. It was a good day to shop because many stores had 40% sales. We got two shirts for Didi for $35.00 after 40% off. I also got something for myself from Gilly Hicks. Then we found cute slippers at a Japanese store. The slippers are specially hand made from woven fibers. It was a nice day for two of us while the kids were at school :) Tonight, we will take the kids to church for the Good Friday service. posted by mom
