Day 3 Vacation - Lake Powell/Colorado River Rafting.

Today we went river rafting on Lake Powell and the Colorado River. We took a bus down a 2-mile tunnel and arrived at the bottom of the Glen Canyon Dam, which is the 2nd largest dam next to the Hoover Dam. We all boarded the raft at around 7:30 am, and rode for 4 hours, covering 15 river miles. We learned about the amazing history of the Grand Canyon and saw many animals including Blue Heron, Rainbow Trout, and ducks. We also saw many natural formations in the rocks that looked like everyday things. During the middle of our trip, we stopped at a beach to view stone paintings carved by Indians. They were very interesting and makes me wonder about ancient life. We also drove around Horseshoe Bend. The weather changed constantly from hot to cold, and I was always sweating or shivering. Despite that, it was a great experience and a different perspective of the Grand Canyon. After the rafting, we drove to Moab, Utah to stay overnight. I have many, many pictures and they will be posted once we get back. :)
