Snails!

In Science class this morning, our teacher brought in live snails for a lab. I was so disgusted because I think snails are gross and slimy. Each person was supposed to pick a snail of their choice and place it on a small dish. My friend had to pick it up for me because I was too scared. :( Eventually, the snail would try to escape the dish, so we were expected to pick it up and put it back in place. If the snail escaped, we would get a 2 hour detention for not following directions, so I knew I had to pick it up. At first, my friend would help me, but after a while she got tired of it. I gathered all my courage and finally picked it up! It turned out to be okay, not as scary as I expected. After 10 minutes, I was picking my snail like a professional. :) During the lab, we learned about how a snail moves, how it eats, and we even got to see it's heart beating! The lab was a very fun experience, and I am no longer afraid of snails.
