In California, every school district in the entire state is required to give a writing test to 4th, 7th, and 10th graders. It just so happens that Joseph and I are exactly 3 years apart, so we both took the test today. The writing test can be any essay, so you must know all how to write the four types of essays you might be tested on - persuasive, response to literature, summary, and narrative. My least favorite is Response to Literature because it is more difficult for me to think of things to write about in response to the story. And just my luck - this is the type of essay I tested on today! :( However, I feel confident that I did well because I took my time taking the test and edited it. I was extremely nervous in the beginning, and very disappointed when I found it it was Response to Literature, but as the test continued, I felt more relaxed and at ease. The results of the test also determines my English class placement in high school, so it's very important. My brother's assignment was to write a Narrative story, and I'm not sure if he did well because he struggles with writing.
In the morning, my mom wanted Joseph and I to eat "brain food" that would help us think. She gave us a filling breakfast of 2 eggs, 7 chicken nuggets, and soymilk for each person. I was so full afterwards, and I wasn't hungry at all during the test. :)
I am hoping we did well, please keep Joseph and I in your prayers!!
